Gymless Gym Rat: Workout 6

Happy post-Thanksgiving everybody! This workout I did a few days ago, it was a mashup of a video I liked off of Popsugar and my own additions (because I was working out unsupervised which usually makes me do crazy things).

Side Plank Knee Tuck

Side Plank Knee Tuck

The Warm Up: 

  • 2 minutes of cardio (jumping jacks, high knees, butt kicks, etc.)
  • 30 seconds of alternating lunges opposite hand reaches overhead
  • 10 push ups
  • 10 squats
  • 10 good mornings
  • 10 crunches
  • 10 tricep dips
  • 10 bent over rows
  • Repeat 1 more round from the push ups to the rows

The Workout: 

2 Rounds of this HIIT video:

Followed by 3 rounds of 45 seconds work/15 seconds rest:

  1. Bent Over rows- 25 lbs sandbag
  2. Side plank with top knee tucking-right
  3. Side plank with top knee tucking-left

The hardest part: A tie between the upsidedown burpees of the video or my side plank knee tucks

My proud moment: Mastering the upside down burpee

Total Time: 45 minutes

Trainers notes: If you don’t have a sandbag don’t worry. The same exercises can be done with dumb bells or a kettle bell. Also the side planks can be done with your bottom knee down (or you can change to that by round 3 like I did. )
